When you have little time to cook, a small set of well chosen recipes helps. These meals include vegetables, protein and fibre. If you follow a special eating plan or programme, stick to its instructions and agree any changes with a professional.
Breakfast and lunch
- Smoothie: blend 150 ml unsweetened plant drink, half a banana, a handful of blueberries, a teaspoon of chia seeds and yoghurt.
- Wrap: place 120 g roasted, well cooked chicken, a little avocado, parsley and lemon in a lettuce leaf. Chicken must be cooked to an internal temperature of 74 degrees Celsius.
- Bowl: 60 g cooked quinoa, half a cup of cooked beans, red pepper and cooked broccoli with olive oil.
Dinner and dessert
- Soup: sauté onion and garlic, add courgette and Brussels sprouts, cover with vegetable stock and simmer for twelve minutes, then blend.
- Dessert: 200 ml plain yoghurt, two spoonfuls of chia seeds and a handful of raspberries. Leave for fifteen minutes so the chia swells.
Tips
Choose varied colours of vegetables, drink enough water and swap ingredients you dislike for similar ones. People with allergies or special health conditions should check ingredients with a doctor or dietitian.
You can include aloe in a smoothie too: Forever Aloe Vera Gel as a finished aloe drink can be added to a smoothie following the label, not as a remedy. Pregnant or breastfeeding women and people on medication should check with a doctor first.
Prepare two portions ahead: cooked quinoa and beans keep in the fridge for up to three days.
